‘Degrowth’ is the agenda, but only for us plebs

HOPEFULLY you all have noticed that very few of the ruling elite’s actions and policies seem to be aimed at doing what they repeatedly promise – improving our lives – making us wealthier and happier. In fact, the answer to almost every problem from the political, bureaucratic, academic and media classes seems to be more control over us and more restrictions on our lives.

One chart produced by UK FIRES, a research programme sponsored by the Government, aiming to support a 20 per cent cut in the UK’s true emissions by 2050 by placing Resource Efficiency at the heart of the UK’s Future Industrial Strategy, gives us a good indication of our Government’s thinking:

You can find the full report and a more legible version of the chart here.

The above chart is not government policy. But it is believed to be influencing our rulers’ ideas for what they want to do with us.

Moreover, there is a similarly-inclined chart produced by the C40 Cities eco-fanatics of their plans for our future in a Net Zero world:

And then you have to add in such factors as 15-minute cities, electricity rationing by making it unaffordable at certain times of the day, replacing meat with insect-based protein, forcing us to buy largely useless electric cars and even more useless heat pumps and much, much more.

I started to wonder if there was anything linking all the almost repressive policies our political rulers and their cheerleaders in the bureaucracies, academia and the mainstream media were so enthusiastic about imposing on us. I wasn’t looking for an evil world-wide conspiracy headed by a bald Bond-style villain stroking his white cat – a Klaus Schwab, for example. Instead I was searching for a mindset which might explain why our supposed ‘public servants’ had become our domineering oppressors.

As I searched for an explanation, I came across this, a BBC documentary from 2024: ‘Can degrowth save the world?’:

Moreover, I think there are a few more similar offerings on YouTube.

Then I had a quick look on Amazon to see if there were any books on what is called ‘degrowth’. Here are just eight of the many I found:

There are quite a few more. It appears that ‘degrowth’ seems to be a hot subject for our intellectual supposed ‘superiors’. Hopefully you’ll also have noticed a tendency for these ‘degrowth’ books to link themselves to communism and/or the destruction of capitalism.

Seeing all this, I was rather tempted to suspect a link between the pandemic lockdowns, the WHO’s plans for future pandemic lockdowns, the whole supposed ‘Climate Crisis’ garbage, the continuous brainwashing from the mainstream media, self-proclaimed intellectuals and the educational establishment about how we are all dreadful and racist and environment-destroying. Perhaps these are all part of a not-so-well-hidden agenda – namely ‘degrowth’ – forcing us to live poorer, colder, more miserable, more controlled lives while the ruling elites and their academic, bureaucratic and media lackeys enjoy luxury and freedom at our expense. After all, ‘degrowth’ is always for us, not for them as they jet around the world travelling in luxury and staying at the best hotels in the nicest places while dreaming up new and exciting (for them) policies they intend to inflict on us. Of course, we’ll never descend to the level depicted in a film such as Soylent Green. But a more realistic picture of the future planned for us is brilliantly (IMHO) described in journalist Ross Clark’s dystopian novel The Denial:

I could go on listing the indications that ‘degrowth’ for us plebs is the ruling elites’ real agenda and pandemics, climate emergency nonsense, central-bank-controlled digital currencies, electronic IDs and so on are merely camouflage for our rulers’ real intentions. Unfortunately, I’m not intelligent enough to explain the psychological condition – the apparent anti-West, luddite guilt psychosis – which has convinced our rulers that everything about the West’s material success, scientific advances and civilisational achievements is to be abhorred and destroyed. But I think you get the picture by now.

I propose that our rulers despise us, view us as ‘useless eaters’ and ‘destructive ecological vandals’ and that it’s ‘degrowth’ for us which seems to explain what our rulers are really up to.
