The Tennessee Conservative Staff –
Memphis police made 120 arrests during their “Operation Code Zero” initiative last week.
According to an announcement made by MPD, the arrests, which included 77 felons, were made in just a few hours on Tuesday, May 27.

Police also seized several illegal firearms, as well as illegal drugs, including fentanyl.
They towed four cars involved in drag racing and reckless driving, and they recovered a vehicle that had been stolen.
Officers also spent time visiting with a number of local businesses in an effort to build their relationship with community members.
MPD says “Operation Code Zero” will target criminals in one neighborhood at a time through several sub-operations.

The operation began more than a year ago but had not been an area of focus until late April.
Interest in the operation was renewed after FBI Director Kash Patel referred to Memphis as the “homicide capital of America.”
Last year, a vast majority of those arrested were released before MPD even released a public statement of their arrests.
Mayor Paul Young is hopeful of the operation’s success this time, noting that one of his goals is to continue to “push crime numbers down.”
MPD also responded by starting Operation Rolling Thunder last month, an initiative aimed at curbing gang activity.
