Dear Editor
Sometimes when attempting to logon to the TCW website, the browser locates a site called DeSmog. This site describes TCW as a far right extremist organisation responsible for regularly publishing articles on ‘climate denial’.
Being not too tech savvy, I don’t know if this diversion is a deliberately engineered ploy or just a limitation of the browser software. Even if the latter is the case, it’s not good as DeSmog keep dossiers on people and organisations who don’t share their viewpoint and they consequently don’t like.
This is behaving like the legitimate state security arm of a democratically elected government. The fact that they’re not sends shivers down my spine. Also, much as I’m against that awful piece of legislation, surely the Online Harms Bill should be getting the tech platforms to clamp down on this kind of thing. I’d like to think the justice secretary would get tough on Desmog, but can’t see it happening. Have a great day everyone.
