The Tennessee Conservative [By David Seal] –
The Conservative Club of Tellico is a stronghold of conservative principles and grassroots activism in East Tennessee. The organization recently held a meeting in which five of Tennessee’s most conservative legislators attended and presented information on the 2025 legislative session.

Representative Jody Barrett (R-Dickson) received two accolades, a perfect score of 100 from Tennessee Stands in its conservative ranking system and was named Conservative Legislator of the Year from the Conservative Club of Tellico.
Other top rated conservative legislators in attendance were Representatives Lowell Russell (R-Vonore), Michele Reneau (R-Signal Mountain), Monty Fritts (R-Kingston), and Todd Warner (R-Chapel Hill).
Club President Rick Dramm called the meeting to order and commented on the origins of CCT, complimenting the legislators in attendance for holding true to their conservative beliefs.

He also introduced Gary Humble of Tennessee Stands who was holding a fundraiser prior to the presentations made by legislators.
Humble is the director of one of the most influential grassroots organizations in Tennessee. This year alone, the organization was responsible for persuading its members to send over a million emails to state legislators in their pursuit of influencing the outcome of certain bills. He also stressed the importance of giving legislators positive feedback when appropriate.
Tennessee Stands also has a comprehensive system of reporting on the voting record and leadership activities of all 132 Tennessee Legislators, linked here.
Each of the five legislators gave updates on the 2025 session and encouraged each member of the audience to stay engaged with public policy and not to become complacent.

The event was hosted by Marty Ward, Maddison Insurance Group, Maryville, Tennessee.
