An illegal alien arrested in Davidson County this week is now said to have been part of an international sex trafficking ring.

25-year-old Ramon de Jesus Velasquez Martinez was arrested on Tuesday, June 3, on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and trafficking for a commercial sex act.
Court records show that his arrest came after an investigation conducted by several agencies and spanning more than a year.
TBI agents, the Metro Nashville Police Department, and other agencies were investigating sex trafficking across Middle Tennessee when they discovered an operation taking place out of a Super 8 motel on Murfreesboro Pike in December 2023.
Two women who were taken into custody said they had been “smuggled” from Venezuela and were forced to pay off “fines” ranging from $20,000-$30,000 through commercial sex acts.
Two individuals who were allegedly involved in the trafficking of the two women were arrested in December 2023 for their role in another sex trafficking operation. 51-year-old Yilibeth Del Carmen-De Caldera and 35-year-old Kleiver Daniel Mota-Rivero were indicted in February 2024 on charges of trafficking for a commercial sex act.

According to one of the victims, Velasquez Martinez would send individuals to her motel room for sex acts while keeping the money from the clients. He also monitored her cell phone to keep track of who she was communicating with. This allegedly took place from November 2023 to February 2025.
The woman said she escaped in 2024 and moved to Miami. She says Velasquez Martinez showed up at the restaurant where she was working and made threats about her children who were in Venezuela while holding her at gunpoint. She returned with him to Nashville.
During the investigation, officials found 26 commercial sex advertisements that had Velazquez Martinez’s number listed in the contact information as well as thousands of text messages between him and other individuals regarding commercial sex acts, advertisements, and weapons.
Inmate records show that Velazquez Martinez is being held on $150,000 bond and has an ICE detainer. He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The ICE detainer most likely means he is in this country illegally.
