Congressman Tim Burchett (R-Knoxville, District 2) puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to supporting President Trump and the mandate the American people gave him in the last presidential election.

The Second District Congressman has filed three bills that propose the following:

CODIFICATION OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS, each, if enacted, would make the presidential orders have the force and effect of law.

Executive Order 14292 (relating to Improving the Safety and Security of Biological Research (signed on May 5, 2025).

Executive Order 14293 (90 Fed. Reg. 19615; relating to regulatory relief to promote domestic production of critical medicines).

Executive Order 14290 (90 Fed. Reg. 19415; relating to ending taxpayer subsidization of biased media).

“My legislation will make Trump’s Executive Orders law by cutting taxpayer funding from NPR and PBS, promoting medicine production here in America, and improving the safety of risky gain-of-function research. I will not sit on the sidelines when it comes to implementing the President’s agenda; I am taking charge to implement the mandate we have from the American people.” – said Congressman Tim Burchett

Earlier, Burchett voted in support of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” of 2025, which, among other things, renews the Trump Tax Cuts, eliminates tax on tips, preserves Medicaid by rooting out waste and fraud, closes loopholes that allow illegal aliens to receive benefits, and provides better access to citizens that are truly eligible for Medicaid.

The renewal of the Trump Tax Cuts will prevent the average Tennessee family of four from paying an additional $1300 on their taxes in 2026.
