On Wednesday, June 18th, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Cookeville Police Department collectively executed a search warrant and arrested an illegal immigrant from China on charges of prostitution and impersonation of a licensed professional.
46-year-old Zou Liushauang was taken into custody and $500 was seized as a result of the search warrant.
According to June 27th press release, Liushauang was renting a house at 23 W 4th St. in Cookeville.
She was running a foot spa business out of the house without obtaining a business license.
However, authorities found proof that Liushauang was offering illegal commercial sex acts as part of her “foot spa” services.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says special agents and investigators were able to use techniques during their investigation that confirmed the occurrence of illegal commercial sex acts being offered at Liushauang’s so-called “foot spa business.”
Liushauang is currently being held in the Putnam County Jail on her state charges. She has also been put on a Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.
Once the disposition of her state charges concludes, Liushauang will be transferred into the custody of ICE for prosecution before eventually being deported from the United States entirely.
“This operation reflects our continued commitment to investigating and dismantling illegal operations that violate public trust,” Sheriff Eddie Farris said in a statement. “We are grateful for the coordinated efforts of our local, state, and federal partners in bringing this case forward.”
Liushauang’s bond has been set at $12,500 for the prostitution charge and $10,000 for impersonation of a licensed professional.
She is expected to appear in court on Wednesday, July 23rd.
