From this Sunday, we are publishing the recordings of a series of sermons preached by the Reverend Matthew Jolley in 2018 inspired by the Book of Jeremiah, called ‘How to survive the end of the world’, which compared the collapse of Jeremiah’s society to our own, and how Christians can prepare and respond to the times we live in.
The prophet Jeremiah himself preached in Judah during the late 7th and early 6th centuries BC. He prophesied during a turbulent period of history, and warned the people of Jerusalem of the consequences of their disobedience to God and the coming judgment of exile at the hands of the Babylonians. The book also includes prophecies of hope and restoration for the future.
