Unfortunately, Raskin was not arguing that people really need to learn to use their guns against terrorists more quickly and with deadly accuracy, which is the lesson that any normal human being would have to stop crazed Islamist terrorists from setting Jews on fire.
Instead, he really went on television to argue that the attack in Colorado, in which an enraged Islamist attacked Jewish protesters, is a prime example of why we need more gun restrictions and stricter background checks for gun purchasers.

The attack in Colorado is yet another in a long line of violence inspired by antisemitism, and yet another example of an illegal immigrant committing violence–a two-fer. Despite having overstayed his tourist visa, the Biden administration granted Soliman a temporary work visa instead of deporting him. And this is the result.
The authorities said they were investigating an attack in Boulder, Colo., on Sunday as an act of terrorism, after a man used a “makeshift flamethrower” to attack demonstrators marching peacefully in support of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Eight people were hospitalized with burns and other injuries, and two of them were in serious condition, officials said. The Boulder Police Department said on Monday that none of the victims had died in the attack.
The suspect, whom the Department of Homeland Security identified as an Egyptian citizen who had overstayed his tourist visa, was arrested.
The attack may intensify deep unease in the Jewish community in the United States. In recent months, two Israeli embassy aides were murdered in Washington, and a man set fire to the residence of Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, who is Jewish.
Raskin’s response is yet another in a long line of Democrat diversions and part of a pattern of ignoring the rise of political and antisemitic violence in the country. Instead, they point the finger at guns and white supremacy as the real problems America faces.

MSNBC described Soliman as a “white man,” as did his booking report. We can argue about what constitutes “white”–race, after all, is a blurry concept–but generally speaking, when you say “white” in America you don’t mean “Arab” or “Hispanic” or anything but a person of European descent. Using the term is meant to intentionally deceive when referring to other groups.

We don’t have an epidemic of white supremacist violence in this country. What we have is an epidemic of insanity, both in the antisemitic haters and alphabet weirdos who have been escalating violence. And, of course, a not inconsiderable rise in “revolutionary” violence that led to two assassination attempts on Trump and the shooting by (and celebration of) Luigi Mangione.

Leftists are, in some way or another, closely associated with all of this. Their antisemitic agitation and calls to “decolonize America” and globalize the intifada, the claims of a trans genocide, sparking the recent school shootings, and the false association of MAGA with rising fascism and Nazism.
Out of all that, the Democrats’ response is…gun control and shutting up conservatives.
It’s hard to believe that Democrats don’t know that they are stoking the hatred and the violence. They gin up controversies like the “Elon Musk is a Nazi” hoax, and at best tut-tut as leftists go on a rampage where they vandalize or even set fire to Teslas. They applaud Luigi Mangione and raise money for his defense.

I don’t want to believe that liberals are hoping for mass violence, but then again, they loved the George Floyd riots and the “summer of love.”
Imagine if one of the Jews in that protest had been strapped and shot the terrorist. How would liberals like Raskin have responded?
No doubt it would have been characterized as yet another example of Islamophobia.
