Epstein DID Kill Himself – HotAir

It is a sign of the times that when the Pravda Media tells us something, we automatically assume that the claim is suspect.

It’s not that the media always lies; it’s just that we know that they are perfectly willing to do so. The classic example is the “fine people” hoax, in which the media knew they were lying because they manipulated the video themselves. They didn’t rely on “sources,” as they did with the “suckers and losers” hoax; they perpetrated the hoax themselves.

Tapper was just one of many who sliced and diced the video to push a provably false narrative. So don’t tell me that “groupthink” or “trusting the wrong source” is the reason why the media keeps reporting falsehoods.

But, as I said, not everything they report–even facts that benefit the elite–is false. Sometimes the facts fit the Narrative™, even when they seem questionable.

Apparently, this is one of those times

Kash Patel and Dan Bongino have a history of being truth-tellers, even when those truths are inconvenient for their own side.

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York in August 2019. New York City’s chief medical examiner ruled his death a suicide by hanging.  He was set to stand trial on federal charges of sex trafficking of minors. His death instantly triggered a wave of conspiracy theories, with many speculating that he was murdered in order to protect the powerful figures who associated with him.

Epstein was a known associate of former President Bill Clinton, former MIT Professor Noam Chomsky, and Prince Andrew. The phrase “Epstein didn’t kill himself” became a viral internet meme in the wake of his death. Patel, however, was adamant that his death was indeed a suicide when questioned by Bartiromo.

“As someone who has worked as a public defender, as a prosecutor who’s been in that prison system, who’s been in the Metropolitan Detention Center, who’s been in segregated housing, you know a suicide when you see one, and that’s what that was,” Patel said when questioned about Epstein’s death. He added that those who disagree with him “have a right to their opinion.”

Is it conceivable that Patel and Bongino are helping cover up the murder of Jeffrey Epstein? Obviously so, since you can’t prove a negative. If you add in Attorney General Bondi’s flub of the Epstein files release, you can easily put together a case that, for any of a number of reasons, people in Trump’s orbit want the Epstein issue to go away.

I am cynical enough to believe this is possible, but realistic enough to believe that Occam’s Razor suggests that Patel and Bongino are telling the truth.

That’s not to say that Occam’s Razor didn’t originally point to Epstein being murdered before multiple disinterested parties had thoroughly examined all the evidence. The circumstances under which it happened were extremely suspicious. A lot of implausible coincidences happened at the same time. Cameras failing, guards falling asleep, hours before discovery… It sure looked bad.

Epstein certainly had reason to kill himself, although whether people do so depends on their character and state of mind. More people than not in his situation have powered through.

I can imagine many reasons for Bongino and Patel to lie; I just don’t believe they did.

If Bondi never releases the Epstein files with minimal redactions and nobody else gets prosecuted, I may revise my opinion again. I have always been on the fence regarding the Epstein suicide–suspicious because of all the implausible coincidences, but not convinced that they all added up to murder.

The best way to reduce suspicion is for Bondi to indict Epstein’s clients and/or release the files ASAP.
