A former coach for Williamson County Schools was arrested last week on several counts of child exploitation.

A Dickson County grand jury indicted Geston Gordon on a total of 22 charges.

Gordon was arrested on Wednesday, May 7. Those charges include sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means, 3 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, 15 counts of exploitation of a minor under 13, and 3 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Gordon was working as a teacher’s assistant at Ravenwood High School; he had also served as the girls’ wrestling coach and a football coach for both Fairview High School and Independence High School. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Air Force for six years.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was notified last year of a situation where a 13-year-old girl from Ohio was receiving online requests for nude photos. An investigation linked online activity from the suspect back to Williamson County.

When Ohio police confirmed that the suspect was a school system employee, they notified Williamson County Schools officials. Gordon was immediately suspended without pay on October 30, 2024, by the district, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office was called in to investigate.

“This arrest is the result of determined investigative work and effective collaboration between our office and the Dickson County District Attorney’s office,” said Sheriff Jeff Hughes. “We remain committed to protecting children from predators — wherever they may be.”

Gordon’s employment with Williamson County Schools was terminated on May 7th, immediately following his arrest.

Williamson County Schools released the following statement:

While this was a law enforcement investigation involving one of our employees, it did not have anything to do with our schools. There were no WCS students identified as victims throughout the investigation.

Gordon is currently being held at the Dickson County Detention Center with bond set at $200,000.
