Letter of the day – The Conservative Woman

Dear Editor

I work as a driver with Tesco and my wife works part time at Tesco.

This month’s increases for me:

Water £10/month

Sky/BT/Broadband £9/month

Council tax £7/month

Gas £5/month

Electricity £5/month

Car tax and TV licence combined £2/month

Home insurance £2/month

Food and fuel/who knows?

So unless I missed something, my monthly bills are going up by a minimum of £40 a month and my pay rise is £10.49 a month.

But Rachel Reeves says that under Labour low-income working families are £500 a year better off.

I am £355 a year worse off.

Does that mean I am not on low income?
