Why so little alarm about Starmer’s imminent new defence and security pact with the EU? Kathy asks a good question in her review of the week.
The answer? Well, Labour has spent ten years trying to sabotage Brexit and now it is finally getting its way – and not just Labour but the Tory Party, the Green Party and the Lib Dems, the judiciary and the civil servants.
Also frankly because the mainstream media are lazy and have not bothered to do their homework. Therefore they do not understand that the EU prerequisite for this pact requires our surrender to EU ‘Third State’ rules with an intended consequence for UK entanglement that I warned of here and that is spelt out in a House of Commons Briefing paper here. The MSM quite simply have become a conduit for state propaganda which means their proper journalists cannot do their jobs.
The consequence is that most of the 17.4million people who voted to leave in 2016 have no idea that what our PM will be accepting today is a third state status which, by definition, means we ‘must share the values on which the EU is founded’ .
Furthermore the UK defence industry have been bought by the promise of future EU defence contracts which will spend the taxes the EU collects from its member nations and third states, providing the next generation of weapons developed by our knowhow and experience, but with the EU owning and controlling the Intellectual Property Rights and how they can be used. That means our big defence budget too.
If the UK had civil servants and ministers with even a basic clue about negotiations, they would be laying down the UK terms for entering into an alliance where we commit to their values with our money without a reciprocal requirement from them to respect our values or what we bring to the table – an Army, Air Force and Navy with nuclear weapons. A giveaway to an EU institution which even they accept lacks adequate democratic accountability.
Without the safeguards of democratic checks and balances over the powers we grant to the institutions who spend our taxes, our freedoms and liberties are imperilled. Have we learnt nothing from history and how both communists (Lenin and Stalin) and fascists (Hitler, Mussolini and Franco) gained power out of chaos and the ballot box only to go on and misuse it?

Aligned against those of us valiantly trying to defend our democracy, freedoms, liberties and our Nation State, are extremely powerful and well-financed globalists. The public may not understand the detail but it is their instinct and intuition on these matters that is turning them to Reform UK. They can smell a rat but may not always see where they lurk!
The EU meanwhile, instead of listening to and heeding what JD Vance told them the EU apparatchiks, now seek his character assassination and the submission of the British people to their colonial rule and domination.
