When thanked for their service each generation of soldiers’ reply is almost universal, “I did it for God, Country, and for our children”. Our warriors’ blood permeates every continent, shed with moral courage sacredly represented in cemeteries around the world.  Millions of white Christian crosses and Stars of David put the exclamation point to the price paid for our Judeo-Christian way of life. But ideologies, once thought defeated, have been resurrected in our generation by foot soldiers of Satan.

The new theater-of-operation is “Battlefield America”. Unlike the Great War, today’s “trench warfare” is being fought in many pulpits, local governments, schoolboards, and most importantly in our homes where the family structure is under siege. It’s our turn to fight reaffirming America’s God-centered way of life. Unfortunately, the spirit that coursed in perpetuity through the veins of America’s men and women seems replaced by an anemic complacency leaving our generation’s “trenches” ominously empty.

In 1918, one of Tennessee’s famous “Volunteers”, Alvin York, had a personal moral question answered by the Word of God…”if My kingdom belonged to this world, then my followers would fight” (John 18:36). York fought heroically, taking the Lord with him into European trenches during WWI. He didn’t become complacent after the war continuing his Godly fight in hometown “trenches” for the educational opportunities of our children in TN.

Historically, assaults on our children have involved child labor and neglect, while child sexual abuse was universally condemned to include public shunning and condemnation; this is no longer the case! Today, child sexualizing and abuse are publicly practiced and even venerated, no longer meeting widespread public condemnation, sadly including many moms and dads. Few parents are entering today’s “trenches” warp-speeding the destruction of American childhood. Occasionally, emanating from the whirlwind of depraved news, we get a peek into the eye of the storm glimpsing a citizen exemplifying the American fighting spirit and its commitment to the welfare of our children.

Tennessean Cody York has brought God into the local trenches fighting for kids. In the York family’s tradition of service, he’s vying for the chairmanship of the County Library Board (to be voted on June 2nd). Pastor York has taken the courageous decision to fight for our kids with that “Braveheart” American spirit exemplified by our country’s “fallen” and by those who returned like his relative Alvin the hero of the “Great War”. Unfortunately, America’s “trenches”, dug to protect our children today, are nearly void of parents, especially dads who complacently cede the minds and bodies of their daughters to a disputatious evil.

Nationwide, officials, teachers, librarians, and medical “professionals” are redefining the family and supplanting parents as they sexually groom and transition their children right under their nihilistic noses.  “Parents” seem so steeped in the secular “culture”, they have become anesthetized to the daily depravity cascading over their kids. Blatantly obscene “schoolbooks” and phone apps join televised home media viewed by parents with their children present…”please pass the popcorn” during breaks in vulgarly graphic seduction scenes! Not an appropriate topic for Memorial Day…au contraire. Our warriors fought for God, country, AND OUR CHILDREN!

Complacent men and women didn’t make our country great, but they will surely bring about its death and an end to Memorial Days!
