GOOD morning. My name is Detective Superintendent Damian Karras. I am the officer in charge of Hate here at the Metropolitan Police.
It has come to the attention of myself and my colleagues that certain white people have been writing derogatory things about the police force on X and elsewhere. Some of the printable remarks refer to us as ‘tosspots’, ‘tyrants’, ‘stooges’ and ‘Stasi’.
These comments are deplorable, hurtful and unjust. It has been suggested that they are a result of the necessary interventions we have been required to take to forestall the rise of the Far Right. Were we to ignore this problem, these nasty comments and offensive memes would proliferate and civil unrest would inevitably follow.
Experience has taught us that these Far Right villains are masters of evasion. Consequently, it is incumbent on us to arrive in groups of ten or more at their places of residence between two and three o’clock in the morning to make arrests. During these raids it is necessary to wear full body armour and be equipped with batons and tasers. We cannot assume that just because someone is old and infirm or is surrounded by young family members that they will not lash out like a deranged ninja warrior during their detainment.
We are aware of accusations that certain police forces have not pursued with the full force of the law those of a certain ethnic origin who have abused vulnerable young people. I would like to reassure you that all decisions relating to prosecutions are made in adherence to the requirement of harmonious community relations and in cognisance of guidance from police training and initiatives such as Common Purpose.
The police remain committed to ensuring that all those who are not fully aware of the norms of our society are treated with sensitivity and consideration whatever their crimes. In doing so it may be necessary to postpone or ignore reports of assault, burglary, drug dealing and the like. I am sure you understand that our resources are finite. Where possible we will log your call in the appropriate manner.
Rest assured that we will be guided in our priorities and the pursuance of our duties by Lord Hermer, Sir Keir Starmer and Ms Yvette Cooper, and we will crack down mercilessly on those who abuse Sharia Law.
Join us in celebrating Pride Month but mind how you go, mind what you say and mind what you write.
