The Tennessee Conservative [By Olivia Lupia] –
26 of the 28 Republican State Attorneys General signed a joint statement supporting President Trump’s military actions in response to the ongoing riots and protests in Los Angeles, CA sparked by ICE immigration enforcement operations.

Tennessee signed onto in this letter via TN’s Attorney General (AG), Jonathan Skrmetti, who has been a staunch supporter of numerous conservative issues including Trump’s Executive Order ending blanket birthright citizenship and standing on the forefront of the U.S. v. Skrmetti lawsuit wherein the AG is defending Tennessee’s right to prohibit healthcare providers from performing gender transition procedures or treatments for minors.
The letter, written by Georgia AG Chris Carr, affirms Trump’s deployment of the National Guard as, “the right response- and one we fully support.” It continues, “We will always defend the right to peacefully protest, but there’s nothing peaceful about arson, assault, and anarchy. If you set police cars on fire, throw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement, and loot businesses, you must be held accountable.”
Carr also excoriates California leadership, stating it has excused lawlessness and undermined law enforcement, necessitating federal intervention in light of the state’s failure to act.
In its conclusion the letter condemns:
– Violent attacks against law enforcement
– The normalization of mob violence as “activism”
– Any attempt to delegitimize efforts to restore order
– Leaders who put politics above public safety

California governor Gavin Newsom sued the Trump administration in an attempt to regain control of the National Guard from the Commander in Chief and accusing Trump of stripping the state’s sovereignty.
However, a federal judge denied Newsom’s emergency injunction, confirming the President’s ability to federalize the National Guard under Title 10.
Newsom has continued to blame Trump for inciting the violence against law enforcement, which mainstream media outlets have repeatedly called “mostly peaceful protests” and “a bunch of people having fun”, though Mayor Karen Bass has instituted a city-wide curfew as tensions continue to escalate and vandalism, looting, and other acts of violence continue to plague Los Angeles.
Trump has deployed approximately 700 Marines in addition to the 4,000 National Guard troops to the area to aid in the restoration of order as ICE continues to conduct immigration enforcement operations in the Los Angeles and the state of California.
Of the 28 Republican AGs in the nation, it appears those of New Hampshire and Wyoming were the only two not to sign the letter.
