The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) announced on Tuesday, June 3, that they had determined Quinn Rodriguez, who serves as the Assistant District Attorney in the 16th Judicial District, comprising Rutherford and Cannon Counties, assaulted a woman several times.

The investigation into Rodriguez, 34, was requested by 16th Judicial District Attorney Jennings Jones and asked TBI special agents to probe allegations of domestic and aggravated domestic assault by Rodriguez.

In one instance, it was found Rodriguez brandished a gun, threatened to kill the victim, then struck her with a weapon. This incident and others lead the TBI to arrest and charge him with two counts of Domestic Assault and two counts of Aggravated Assault.

He was booked into the Rutherford County Jail on a $10,000 bond where he remains as of this writing. No further details of the case have yet been released.

On Wednesday, June 4, 16th Judicial District Attorney General Jennings Jones issued a statement regarding the arrest and charges.

“I am deeply disappointed with the allegations against Mr. Rodriguez and have contacted the District Attorney’s Conference to request that a Pro Tempore prosecutor be assigned to this case,” he said. “Effective immediately, Mr. Rodriguez is no longer employed by or associated with the District Attorney’s Office for Rutherford and Cannon Counties.”
