In a letter to U.S Attorney General Pam Bondi, Tennessee Congressman Andy Ogles (R-District 5) has called for the denaturalization and deportation of Democrat New York City Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani based on allegations that Mamdani may have withheld or misrepresented information to gain U.S. citizenship and publicly supported known terrorist organizations.

Ogles published the letter on X, nicknaming Mamdani “little muhammad” and calling him an “antisemitic, socialist, communist who will destroy the great City of New York.”

He reports that Mamdani has “expressed open solidarity with individuals convicted of terrorism-related offenses prior to becoming a U.S. citizen,” specifically referencing Mamdani’s SoundCloud rap track “Salaam”, in which he refers to a group of convicted terrorists known as the Holy Land Five as “my guys”.

According to investigative data analyst DataRepublican, the Holy Land Five were found guilty of funneling millions of dollars to Hamas through the Holy Land Foundation, a U.S.-designated Specially Designated Terrorist Organization which was shuttered by federal authorities for acting as a fundraising front for Hamas.

“This isn’t art—it’s jihadist propaganda,” Ogles wrote about the song on social media.

His letter further claims that Mamdani’s public praise of the group, “raises serious concerns about whether Mr. Mamdani held affiliations or sympathies he failed to disclose during the naturalization process…If an individual publicly glorifies a group convicted of financing terrorism, it is entirely appropriate for federal authorities to enquire whether the individual engaged in non-public forms of support- such as organization affiliation, fundraising, or advocacy- that would have required disclosure on Form N-400 or during a naturalization interview.”

He concludes by urging the DOJ to determine if Mamdani’s conduct warrants formal review and reiterates the need for federal government to uphold trust in the citizenship process. “The naturalization process depends on the good-faith disclosure of any affiliation with, or support for, groups that threaten U.S. national security. If Mr. Mamdani concealed relevant associations, that concealment may constitute a material misrepresentation sufficient to support denaturalization under federal law,” he surmised.

Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee called Ogles’ accusations “racist drivel” as other prominent Democrats like Bill Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and NY Gov. Kathy Hochul have expressed support for Mamdani’s victory.

Meanwhile, conservatives are commending Ogles for his efforts, like investigative journalist Laura Loomer who simply called Ogles’ actions “Based.” DC_Draino, a conservative influencer based in Florida posted, “A Tennessee Congressman is trying to save New York City from a communist takeover. Incredible.”

“Call me whatever you want, but this man has no right to serve in public office. He’s an admitted communist supporter and that alone is grounds for deportation,” wrote Gunther Eagleman to his large follower base.

Mamdani was born in Uganda and moved to the U.S. at seven years old but did not become a naturalized U.S. citizen until 2018. He is a confirmed member of the Democratic Socialists of America and has served in the New York Assembly for three terms.

The 33-year-old Muslim handily defeated disgraced former NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo to win the Democrat Mayoral primary election and has since gained national attention for his radically socialistic policy positions including:

– Creating government-run grocery stores

– Raising minimum wage to $30

Higher taxes for “whiter neighborhoods”

– Strengthening sanctuary city policies

– Creating “safe” injection sites

Supporting dismantling the prison system

Given the extremity of Mamdani’s platforms and his promoting blatantly communist rhetoric in many of his social media posts, some are calling on the Trump administration to invoke the Communist Control Act of 1954 (CCA), which outlawed the Communist Party and prohibits members of Communist organizations from serving in certain government capacities.

Neither the DOJ or President Trump have yet commented on Ogles’ letter or calls to enact the CCA against Mamdani.
