A former West Tennessee baseball coach was arrested Monday for drug possession/exchange and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Austin Taylor on eight counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and eight counts of simple possession/casual exchange involving a Schedule II controlled substance.

According to court documents, Taylor, who previously served as the head baseball coach at Crockett County High School, obtained at least 31 Adderall pills from a 17-year-old student who he met numerous times “on or within 500 feet of Crockett County School Property.”

The affidavit states that messages found on the teen’s cell phone confirm the transactions.

Taylor is scheduled to appear before General Sessions Judge Paul Conley to have a bond set.
