An illegal alien was arrested earlier this month in Davidson County after kidnapping and beating a man.

21-year-old Kenardo Lamey was arrested on May 5 in connection with the incident that took place in Antioch on the night of November 6, 2024.

According to reports, the victim, Cory Beal Jr., was walking near Maroney Drive and Hamilton Cross Drive when neighborhood residents suspected he was breaking into vehicles. Three men approached Beal in a dark colored BMW. One of those men was Lamey.

The police affidavit says that the men held Beal up at gunpoint, forcing him to sit on the curb. They then hit him repeatedly as he tried to explain to them that he lived in the area.

Beal was treated at the hospital for a head injury and bruising on his stomach.

Beal was able to identify Lamey in a police lineup at a later time and confirmed that he was driving the BMW. He also told police that Lamey returned to the scene after the incident and tried to apologize to the victim.

Police located the BMW at an Antioch residence and arrested Lamey, charging him with especially aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm under prohibition.

Lamey was placed in the Maximum Correctional Center on a $510,000 bond.

Records now indicate that he is being held on an immigrant detainer. He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. An ICE hold means Lamey is most likely in the country illegally.

This is not Lamey’s first encounter with law enforcement officials. He was arrested in July 2023 in Okaloosa County, Florida, on charges of reckless driving.
