Knox County police arrested an illegal alien on Monday for sex crimes against a child.
52-year-old Moises Casanova was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery, attempted rape of a child, and rape of a child.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on those charges on Wednesday.
Inmate records now show that Casanova has an immigrant detainer hold. He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
An ICE hold most likely means Casanova is in this country illegally.
