An illegal alien was arrested last week in Knox County for rape and physical assault.
Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Ivan Martinez Salinas on May 31.
He was charged with rape and assault-physical contact.
Salinas was originally placed on a 12-hour-hold.
Inmate records now show that he has an ICE detainer.
He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
An immigration hold means that Salinas is most likely in the country illegally.
