An illegal alien is facing five charges of attempted murder after going on a shooting spree across Memphis last month.

24-year-old Enoc Martinez is accused of going on a 20-minute shooting rampage that sent three people to Memphis area hospitals and threatened numerous other individuals.
On Saturday, April 26, Martinez shot the first individual just after 12:00 PM on Faxon Avenue before fleeing the scene in a silver Ford Edge. That victim was taken to Regional One hospital in critical condition.
12 minutes later, Martinez shot another driver from his vehicle near Sam Cooper Boulevard and White Station Road. That driver was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
The final incident occurred on I-240 near Walnut Grove Road. Martinez continued to fire at vehicles, critically injuring another man.
After that incident, another driver who had been shot at by Martinez followed him until police were able to locate the vehicle. He attempted to flee from police but ultimately lost control of his vehicle and crashed. After attempting to run away from the scene, Martinez was captured by Memphis police.

Police discovered a black handgun that had been thrown from the Ford Edge.
Sources report that Martinez’s sister told police the whole thing started because she refused to let him borrow her car. He allegedly called and threatened to kill her before showing up at her home and then shooting the first man.
Martinez is charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder, five counts of employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, evading arrest, and domestic assault by intimidation.

According to a release from the Department of Homeland Security, Martinez came into the U.S. illegally as an unaccompanied minor in 2014. After being captured by Border Patrol, he was released to the Office of Refugee Resettlement and was then placed with a sponsor in Memphis. In 2022, he was given a final order of removal.
Martinez is now being held on an immigrant detainer. This means he will remain in jail until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
