It was only a week ago that the NY Times published an article about Hasan Piker, one of the left’s leading voices and the person sometimes called the Joe Rogan of the right. The story was originally titled “A Progressive Mind in a MAGA Body” but they changed it later to “A Progressive Mind in a Body Made for the ‘Manosphere’.” Here’s a sample.
Like many of the successful internet personalities who appeal to a generation of young men, Mr. Piker, a 33-year-old Twitch and YouTube streamer, is a “bro”: He likes weapons, inhales supplements, uses nicotine pouches and ruminates endlessly on the legacy of LeBron James. But unlike many of his contemporaries, Mr. Piker, an avowed socialist, is just as at ease dressing in French maid drag as he is on a basketball court.
In the six years since he started his daily online broadcasts about culture and politics, Mr. Piker has become a streaming star: He has about 4.5 million followers combined on YouTube and Twitch, the platform wildly popular with Americans who came of age during the Covid-19 pandemic…
Mr. Piker’s success on camera, in some part, has been aided by the fact that he is, by conventional standards, a very handsome man. He is 6 feet 4 inches tall and built like a professional athlete, with a square jaw, a beard and a head of thick dark hair.
“It’s the one aspect that many of my haters can’t shake,” Mr. Piker said of his appearance in a Twitch broadcast last year. “They can’t turn around and be like, ‘You’re not hot.’”
Even as the largest papers in the US try to build this guy up, he keeps sticking his big feet in his big mouth. Over the weekend he had a debate with Ethan Klein, another progressive YouTube host, during which he compared the Houthis to Anne Frank. (Note: Lots of NSFW language here.)

Best I can tell, this is a reference to a Houthi teenager that Piker interviewed on his show last year. Piker had previously compared him to Anne Frank.
Oh my God. Hasan Piker compares the 19 year old Houthi guy he interviewed to ANNE FRANK.

Getting back to the debate this weekend, Piker made it clear that he wasn’t just talking about this one individual but that he supported the Houthis in general.
Hasan Piker, one of the very top streamers on Amazon’s Twitch platform, openly endorses the Houthis—a designated terrorist organization—attacking civilian ships and kidnapping random Filipino sailors. Previously, Piker couldn’t even point to Yemen on a map.
Hasan Piker – the biggest progressive pro-Palestine, pro-Hamas streamer in the world, a guy now infamous for streaming with Houthi militants – literally couldn’t find Yemen on a world map prior to October 7. He thought Yemen was in Central Asia and clicked on Turkmenistan.… pic.twitter.com/8aTFSlBjhy

The Houthis are a designated terrorist organization again as of March. Yesterday the Houthis launched a missile at Israel’s largest airport which got through various attempts to intercept it. Fortunately, it missed the terminal and no one was hurt.
Absolutely INSANE footage of the impact from a Houthi missile on Israel’s Ben Gurion airport.
What would happen if this was JFK or Heathrow – do you think the Houthis would exist tomorrow? How about their Iranian backers? pic.twitter.com/Qbv5BeGxWG

Piker celebrated that too.

He has also previously endorsed Hezbollah, another Iranian funded terror group.
Hasan Piker – described by the New York Times as the leading voice of young progressives – endorses Hezbollah: “I don’t have a problem with them … they are an effective resistance group against Israel.”

Piker is also a skeptic about the rape of Israeli women by Palestinians on 10/7. Here’s some of what didn’t appear in the glowing NY Times profile about Piker.
“It doesn’t matter if rapes happened on October 7th,” Piker said while livestreaming on May 22, 2024. “It doesn’t change the dynamic for me.” Apparently, not even the most brutal, inhumane crimes committed during Hamas’s October 7, 2023 invasion of Israel could justify the Israeli military response—which he repeatedly refers to as an “ethnic cleansing campaign.”
Just this week, he claimed on Twitch that “in a totally just world, regardless of your background, any kind of fucking Zionist tendency should be treated in the same way as being a fucking rabid neo-Nazi.” (The vast majority of Jews identify as Zionists.) He went on: “You shouldn’t even let someone be the fucking local dog catcher . . . if they have exhibited any sort of positive feelings about the state of Israel.”
But the Times did include bit of negativity in their Piker profile, albeit by accident.
…amid all the descriptions of Piker’s attractiveness—and all the photos that back it up—the Times let something small yet grimly revealing slip into its profile of the streamer. One of the images shows Piker’s monitor, during one of his livestreams. If you zoom in, you can see a comment from a Twitch user referring to an Israeli Defense Force soldier: “I’d ph**k this idf b**h to death and make his mother shove missles up her ass.”
The Times has since updated the photo with the comment cropped out of the picture.
This is the guy people are hoping will be the new face of the progressive left, a pro-terrorist streamer who would fit right in with the pro-Hamas activists at Columbia University. I sincerely hope they’re right because making Hasan the face of the party will ensure the party continues to lose elections.
