The Reviews Are Already Rolling In for KJP’s ‘Independent,’ And … – HotAir

Karine Jean-Pierre’s book won’t launch for another four months, but the critics are already raving! Er … better make that ranting. The mere suggestion that Joe Biden’s Propagandist-In-Chief plans to refashion herself an “Independent” after four years of covering up the greatest presidential scandal in a century strikes a few notables as offensive … or just flat-out hilarious.

Count Stephen A. Smith among the former. Late yesterday, the man who helped memeify Come on, man unleashed a torrent of fury over Jean-Pierre’s attempt to reposition herself while cashing in on the grift. He also notes that KJP’s change of direction is rather sudden, even after Biden left office. KJP was still fronting for the conspiracists as late as a couple of months ago, Smith points out:

“You were not the White House press secretary when you showed up on ABC’s ‘The View’ a couple of months ago. You were talking major stuff then. You were not the White House press secretary. You were an American citizen who was not working in the White House.”

“What the h*ll you go on the show for then? Bloviating about Joe Biden and how he was alert and he was spry and he was a great commander-in-chief and he was sharp and all of this stuff?”

“You didn’t have to do that, but you chose to. Live with your decisions. Live with your decisions … You chose to go front and center and still spew the same party line.”

That was so much fun that I watched it twice. Smith does finish up this rant with a calm and polite invitation to appear on his podcast to explain herself. Perhaps Jean-Pierre will take him up on that invite, but she’d be making a huge mistake. At least Jake Tapper knows how to project humility, sincerely or not, and can handle himself on camera without looking disgusted at having to engage at all. And as it turns out, humility may not be on the menu in this book either.

That brings us to Scott Jenning’s assessment on CNN. While Jennings doesn’t exhibit the fiery outrage of Stephen A. Smith, he’s every bit as cutting. Calling her an “untalented mediocrity” and “the most self-aggrandizing liar that has ever held this job,” Jennings puts KJP smack-dab in the center of the conspiracy to defraud the American public:

“I mean, this is the most self-aggrandizing liar that has ever held this job. The White House press secretary is a sacred position, and she stood up there for years and lied through her teeth to the American people. She is — she is the literal worst White House press secretary in my lifetime and what she did in the last year, year and a half of the Biden administration — cheap fakes, the entire cover up around the president’s mental faculties, she was in the center of it. So, congratulations for getting rid of this. But Democrats deserve everything they’re getting here for putting her in that job in the first place.”

Comedian Terrence K. Williams opts for ridicule:

For years, she strutted as the White House’s smarmy mouthpiece, force-feeding America a steaming heap of bull about Biden’s failing health and mental meltdown.

Now, all of this might become secondary if Jean-Pierre’s book actually admits to her Baghdad Bob-ism at the Briefing Room podium over the last two years. If, as the title and subtitle of the book suggests, Jean-Pierre admits to the fraud and conspiracy while namings its leaders and enablers, her book might be worth reading. At least it would go father in that direction than Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson go in exposing Protection Racket Media collaboration in the Sharp As A Tack® fraud.

That would be a book I might even buy. Unfortunately, early indications are that “Independent” is not that book:

In her new book, Jean-Pierre appears ready to defend her record as Biden’s chief defender over questions about his health. The book’s description on Barnes & Noble suggests that Jean-Pierre believes that Biden’s run for reelection failed because of “betrayal” by the Democratic Party.

“In 2020, she joined Biden’s campaign as a senior adviser, becoming Harris’s chief of staff and then, two years later, White House press secretary. She takes us through the three weeks that led to Biden’s abandoning his bid for a second term and the betrayal by the Democratic Party that led to his decision,” the description says.

In other words, Jean-Pierre isn’t going “Independent” out of shame for how the Democrat Party covered up Biden’s senility and cooked the primaries to ensure his nomination for a second term. Jean-Pierre wrote the book to vent about how Democrats didn’t commit to the fraud and see it through to the end. Her book carries water for the conspiracy even after it has been fully exposed. Jennings’ accusation of “self-aggrandizing liar” may actually be a bit too nice.
