The Tennessee Conservative Retains Brazil Clark, PLLC In Pending Lawsuit

The Tennessee Conservative (TTC) has retained the services of Brazil Clark PLLC, a law firm specializing in civil litigation and civil rights cases, to defend a lawsuit filed against it on May 19, 2025, in the Sumner County Circuit Court, Coker et al v. Lewis et al, 25-CV-535. 

The plaintiffs are Jeffrey Coker, identified in the Complaint as Chairman of the Hendersonville Municipal Planning Commission at the time of the events alleged, and CokerWolfe, an insurance and risk management firm.

The suit names both The Tennessee Conservative LLC and TTC founder Brandon Lewis amongst nine defendants and states that both TTC and Lewis supported Chris Spencer in his campaign to unseat State Senator Ferrell Haile (R-Gallatin-District 18) during the 2024 election cycle. 

The lawsuit alleges that the defendants published or republished false and defamatory statements accusing Mr. Coker of unlawfully removing a campaign sign during the 2024 State Senate race. 

Along with the defamation count, the lawsuit alleges false light and civil conspiracy by the defendants. The demands include: a six-person jury trial, compensatory damages of at least $500,000, punitive damagesin an amount to be determined by the jury, pre-and post-trial interest on any awards, court costs and fees, and any “further relief as this Court may deem proper.
